Vietnamese free software users have a preference to use online forums rather than use discussion mailing-lists.
The localization project of the free softwares recommended by the Vietnamese government (OpenOffice.org, Firefox, Thunderbird),
known as MOST (http://du-an-most.hanoilug.org/), uses a wiki, a Pootle translation server and a mailing-list since its creation in April 2009.
AUF, through the “Centre Linux et logiciels libres pour le développement – Vietnam” project under the coordination of the Ccampus numérique francophone de Hanoi, has facilitated Hanoilug and MOST's activities by hosting their web sites and mailing lists on its server.
