This poll was put on line by the web site Vnexpress.Net during the time the first publicized serie of police raids occurred to check for illegal softwares in PC vendors at Hanoi.
It is interesting to note how the percentage of answers stating that they would buy licenses if a strong enforcement would be put against the use of pirated softwares (14%) and the drop in the rate of piracy (-12%) reported by BSA between 2004 and now.
The poll also indicates that, in such a situation, 34% of people may switch to use Free softwares, namely GNU/Linux.
Of course, wishing to migrate does not ensure that the migration to GNU/Linux will be effective. There are conditions to be met so that the migration process will be successful.
